This is the real deal. Not "attributed to" anyone — this is a fully stamped, fully documented Copeland Spode piece, pattern name and everything: "Spode's Aster". Stoke-on-Trent's finest, circa 1890, and it looks like it just came out of the cabinet.
The two-handled soup cup sits on its matching saucer like it owns the place. The Spode's Aster pattern is a riot of colour — deep crimson chrysanthemums with yellow centres, trailing purple asters, and lush green foliage that wraps all the way around both pieces. The ivory ground is rich and warm, and the scalloped edges are crisp. No chips, no cracks, no crazing. Mint condition after 130+ years. Respect.
The Copeland Spode backstamp is clearly printed on the base of the cup, confirming both maker and pattern name. This is a collector's piece that also happens to be completely usable.
