Nearly two kilos of antique crystal that has absolutely no intention of going unnoticed. This 1920s bowl sits on a solid stepped foot like it owns the room — which, at 23 centimetres wide and with this much hand-cut detail, it kind of does.

The upper body is a masterclass in early 20th century glasswork: a wide band of alternating motifs runs all the way around — eight-pointed star rosettes, fan-cut triangles, and finely crosshatched diamond panels, all framed by sweeping diagonal mitre cuts. The scalloped rim is finished with individual curved cuts on each scallop, giving the whole piece a wonderfully organic, almost floral silhouette. Look inside and you get a clean, smooth interior with a central starburst cut on the base — simple, elegant, and perfectly balanced against all that exterior drama. The stepped foot adds just the right amount of height to make it a proper centrepiece.

This is the kind of bowl that makes a dining table look like it belongs in a 1920s country house. Or a living room sideboard. Or anywhere that deserves a century of exceptional craftsmanship on display.

WARNING: This bowl will immediately become the most-commented-on object in whatever room you put it in. Maison de L'oro accepts no responsibility for any subsequent pressure to explain what a star rosette cut is to dinner guests, or the sudden realisation that everything else on your table looks a bit ordinary by comparison. You've been warned.
