Small but mighty. This little oval relish dish is the unsung hero of the Edwardian dinner table — the one that quietly held the pickles, the olives, the mint sauce, or whatever condiment the cook deemed essential that evening. And it did it with style.
Decorated with the same scattered pink and purple anemone sprays with golden-green leaves as the rest of this dinner service, the ivory glaze catches the light beautifully and the scalloped edge is finished with a bright gold rim. At just 20.5 cm long, it's the perfect size for a cheese board, a side of olives, or a handful of chocolates you're pretending to share.
No backstamp, but the style and glaze are consistent with Devon pottery of the period — part of the same Edwardian dinner service as our matching plates, soup plates, and serving pieces.
