Soup in the 1900s was serious business. None of this "bowl of broth at your desk" nonsense — you sat down, you used a proper rimmed soup plate, and you took your time. This is that plate.

With its wide, gently sloping rim decorated with the same full pink and purple anemone clusters as our matching open serving bowl — complete with those distinctive pearl-centred stamens and golden-green leaves — this soup plate is unmistakably part of the same Edwardian dinner service. The ivory glaze is rich and creamy, the scalloped edge is finished with a fine gold rim, and the deep well is perfectly sized for a generous serving of whatever the cook had on the stove.

No backstamp, but the style, glaze, and transfer are consistent with Devon pottery of the period.
