SOLD OUT! Right, let's talk about the elephant in the room: yes, this glass contains uranium. No, you don't need to call anyone. Uranium glass — also known as Vaseline glass — was wildly popular in Bohemia from the late 19th century through the 1930s, and the amount of uranium used is completely safe for display and handling. What it does do is glow an absolutely electric neon green under UV light, which is frankly one of the most satisfying things you can do with a 100-year-old dish.

In daylight, these charming little dishes have a soft, pale green tint with a lovely opalescent quality. The scalloped rim and ribbed body are classic Bohemian pressed glass, and the centre of each dish features a delicate hand-applied gold decoration: a leaping deer or gazelle surrounded by stylised star flowers and birds in flight — a motif that feels both Art Nouveau and quietly magical.

There are 3 available, all sold individually. Each one is a little piece of early 20th century Bohemian craftsmanship that also happens to be a conversation starter, a UV party trick, and a collector's gem all in one.

WARNING: Showing the UV glow of this dish to literally anyone will result in them immediately wanting one. Maison de L'oro accepts no responsibility for the uranium glass collecting obsession — and the UV torch purchase — that will inevitably follow.
