The smallest member of the family, and not remotely apologetic about it. This little cloisonné vaasje from 1930s–40s China has the same decorative vocabulary as its larger companions — ruyi cloud ground, peony motif, gold wire cloisons, cobalt blue accents — just compressed into a perfectly formed 8cm package that fits in the palm of your hand and looks magnificent on a shelf.

In excellent condition for its age, with no significant damage. A lovely standalone piece or a perfect companion to the larger cloisonné vases in the collection.

  • Origin: China, Republican period
  • Period: 1930s–40s
  • Technique: Cloisonné enamel on copper
  • Motif: Peony with ruyi cloud ground
  • Dimensions: 8 × 5 cm
  • Weight: 70 grams
  • Condition: Good vintage — minor wear consistent with age

WARNING: At 8cm tall, this vase is small enough to accidentally leave in a pocket. Maison de L'oro strongly advises against this, but also accepts no responsibility if it happens and you end up with the world's most elegant accidental souvenir.
