A statement piece that's been around the block — and has the tiniest battle scar to prove it. This large Art Deco fruit bowl, attributed to George Davidson & Co. of Gateshead, England, is a seriously impressive piece of pressed glass that commands attention the moment it enters a room.

The design is bold and geometric: a deep rectangular form with a striking diamond lattice pattern covering every surface, a crisp starburst centre, and four sturdy feet that lift it just enough to give it presence. At over a kilo of solid green glass, this is not a shy object. It glows beautifully in natural light and looks equally at home filled with fruit, displayed empty, or used as a centrepiece that makes everything else on the table look a bit ordinary.

This bowl comes from the same private collection as our other Davidson green glass pieces — same period, same distinctive colour, same exceptional quality.

Condition note: There is a very small flake/chip on one of the feet, barely visible and not noticeable when the bowl is displayed normally. Clearly documented in the photos. Priced accordingly.

  • Maker: George Davidson & Co. (attr.), Gateshead, England
  • Style: Art Deco pressed glass
  • Period: circa 1930
  • Colour: Clear green pressed glass
  • Dimensions: 25.5 x 15.5 x 10 cm
  • Weight: 1,035 g
  • Condition: Good vintage condition — minor chip to one foot (see photos)

A genuinely beautiful piece at an honest price — because we believe in full transparency and think a tiny chip on the bottom of a foot shouldn't stop a great bowl from finding a great home.

WARNING: This bowl is so large and impressive that any fruit placed in it will immediately look like it belongs in a still-life painting. Maison de L'oro accepts no responsibility for any subsequent urge to paint watercolours, host elaborate dinner parties, or collect the entire Davidson green glass range.
