A handsome piece of French pewter with a story to tell. This scallop-edged decorative plate features a beautifully engraved coat of arms bearing the iconic eight-pointed Maltese Cross — the symbol of the Knights of St. John and, of course, Malta itself. Whether this was made as a souvenir, a diplomatic gift, or simply because someone had excellent taste, we'll never know. But here it is.
The back is stamped Etain Fin 94% — French for 'fine pewter, 94% pure' — confirming its French origin and quality. The maker's mark on the hanging loop is consistent with mid-20th century French pewter production. A wall-mounted hanging loop is already fitted, so it's ready to go straight up on your wall.
