Some objects are so pretty they make you feel slightly guilty for just putting them on a shelf and walking away. This is one of those objects. Made by H&C – Original Rosa Porzellan in Czechoslovakia around 1940–1950, this twin-handled vase is the kind of piece that makes a dressing table look like it belongs in a film set.

The body is a soft, warm blush pink — the kind of pink that's elegant rather than loud — with a gently faceted surface that catches the light beautifully. The two sculptural handles sweep upward in an organic, almost Art Nouveau-inspired curve, each one gilded in bright gold that contrasts perfectly with the pale body. A delicate hand-painted floral spray — soft pink blooms with green foliage — decorates the front, and gold banding finishes the rim.

The back features a striking gilded bamboo-style spine running down the neck — an unexpected detail that makes this vase even more interesting from every angle. The H&C Rosa Porzellan backstamp is clearly visible on the base, along with the mould number 9.

Condition is as close to mint as a 75-year-old piece of porcelain can get. No chips, no cracks, no restoration. Just a very well-preserved little beauty.
