If you've ever wanted to own something that looks like it was made from a captured aurora borealis, this is your moment. This footed compote by Indiana Glass Company shifts between deep cobalt blue, teal, purple and gold depending on the light — which is exactly what carnival glass is supposed to do, and this one does it exceptionally well.
Indiana Glass Company was one of America's most prolific pressed glass manufacturers, and their 1970s carnival glass revival pieces are now firmly in collector territory. This compote features a scalloped rim with applied bubble detailing around the edge, a beautifully faceted stem with a decorative knop, and a solid round foot. It's substantial — nearly 1.4 kilos of glass — which means it sits with real authority on a table and isn't going anywhere without your permission.
Condition is excellent: no chips, no cracks, full iridescence intact.
