Post-war German ceramics when Jafra was just getting started
This Jafra Keramik triple candle holder from late 1940s Germany is a piece of ceramic history. At 26 x 8 cm and 378 grams, this early Jafra piece features that signature lava-drip glaze in cream and brown tones that would later define the Fat Lava movement. Made just after WWII when German potters were rebuilding their craft, this is authentic early Jafra before they became legendary.
Late 40s = early Jafra innovation:
Jafra Keramik started experimenting with volcanic glazes right after the war. This piece shows that early work - the organic drip effect, the sculptural footed base, the earthy palette. It's proto-Fat Lava from the studio that would help define the genre.
Triple candle holder with presence:
Three candle cups connected by flowing ceramic arms on a footed base. The lava glaze drips down naturally, creating texture and visual interest. Functional art that works with or without candles.
What you're getting:
A Jafra Keramik lava glaze candle holder (26 x 8 cm, 378 grams) from late 1940s Germany. Early post-war piece with honest patina from 75+ years.
