Say bonjour to this charming little trinket tray from Limoges Castel, France — made and decorated entirely in Limoges, as the proud backstamp will tell you. Because when you’re from Limoges, you don’t hide that fact. You put it on the bottom of every piece you make, twice, just to be sure.
The decoration is a loose, naturalistic floral spray in that wonderfully relaxed 1970s style: a full-blown deep red peony front and centre, flanked by yellow roses, purple buds and delicate trailing branches with small dark berries. All on a clean, bright white ground. No fussy gold borders, no drama — just confident, beautiful porcelain doing what Limoges does best.
At 10.5 cm across and a featherlight 54 grams, it’s the kind of piece that fits everywhere: a bathroom shelf, a dressing table, a kitchen windowsill. Small in size, enormous in charm.
