The pattern — a warm salmon-pink basket weave background with hand-painted floral cartouches in pink, purple, blue and green, finished with a gold rim — is the kind of thing that makes museum curators quietly jealous. Each piece is a little work of art that somehow survived two centuries and ended up here, ready for a new home.
