Meet the most elegant duck you've ever seen. Hand-blown by the Maestri di Murano — the master glassblowers of Venice's legendary island — this sculptural duck is made using the ancient filigrana technique: spiralling threads of cobalt blue, lime green, and violet glass twisted through clear crystal to create a body that looks like it's in constant, graceful motion.
The head and beak are electroformed silver — hallmarked and confirmed — a beautiful contrast between the warm metallic sheen and the cool, swirling glass body. Electroforming deposits pure silver onto a mould to create an incredibly detailed, lightweight form: the result here is a perfectly shaped duck's head with a smooth, reflective finish. The tail sweeps upward in a long, elegant point. The base bears the original oval label: Vetro eseguito da Maestri di Murano — Made in Italy, and the pontil mark on the underside confirms this was finished by hand.
A genuine piece of Murano craftsmanship combined with hallmarked silver work, in excellent condition. The kind of object that sits on a shelf and makes everything around it look better.
