Paragon Tree of Kashmir Fine Bone China Dessert Plate – c.1960

If you know, you know. Paragon Tree of Kashmir is one of those patterns that collectors actively hunt for — and for good reason. This is a fine bone china dessert plate, made in England circa 1960, bearing the Royal Warrant backstamp "By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen, China Potters". Yes, the Queen approved this. We keep saying it because it keeps being true.

The Tree of Kashmir pattern is a riot of controlled beauty: a central Chinoiserie-inspired floral arrangement erupts from a gilded vase — deep crimson peonies, purple blooms, yellow flowers and trailing green foliage — all framed by a double border of delicate sage green latticework and gold. Scattered around the embossed scalloped rim are individual floral sprigs and inky grey scroll motifs. The entire rim is edged in gold. It is, frankly, a lot — in the very best way.

At 11.5 cm across and a solid 115 grams, this is a plate that means business. Use it as a display piece, a trinket tray, or just let it sit somewhere looking magnificent. It doesn't need a job. It's already doing one.
