Royal Albert Moss Rose Bone China Dish, 1950s

Royal Albert didn't do subtle. While other potteries were quietly putting a small flower on a saucer and calling it a day, Royal Albert was arranging full bouquets of pink moss roses and blue forget-me-nots around an entire scalloped bowl and gilding the edge for good measure. This is the Moss Rose pattern, and it is exactly as unapologetically pretty as it sounds.

This small oval bone china dish features the classic Moss Rose decoration: clusters of soft pink roses with green foliage and blue floral accents, repeated around the inside rim of a gently undulating ivory bowl. The scalloped edge is finished with a fine gold rim, and the whole thing sits on an oval unglazed foot. It's the kind of dish that makes jam look like it was prepared by someone who really has their life together.

Marked on the base with the full Royal Albert Bone China England "Moss Rose" backstamp — easy to date to the 1950s production run. Works beautifully as a dessert dish, condiment bowl, or just a pretty object that happens to be useful.
