This bowl has presence. Not in a loud, look-at-me kind of way — more in a quietly-commanding-the-room kind of way. It sits on three solid crystal ball feet like it owns the place, which at 1.16 kilos of hand-cut lead crystal, it kind of does.
The cutting is exceptional and covers every surface: sweeping diagonal mitre cuts wrap around the exterior like a perfectly tailored suit, interspersed with starburst pinwheels, fan motifs, and tiny six-pointed star rosettes that catch the light from every angle. Look at it from above and you get a spectacular kaleidoscope of intersecting cuts radiating from a central starburst — the kind of pattern that takes a skilled cutter hours to execute. The three ball feet are themselves faceted, because apparently the craftsman thought the bottom of the bowl deserved just as much attention as the top. Respect.
This is the kind of piece that goes in the centre of a dining table and makes everything around it look like it's trying too hard. Or on a sideboard. Or a mantelpiece. Basically anywhere it can be seen, because it deserves to be seen.

WARNING: This bowl will immediately become the most impressive thing in whatever room you put it in. You've been warned.
