This is the kind of object that makes you want to throw a dinner party. Or at least pretend you're the sort of person who throws dinner parties. Heavy, swirling cut crystal with a gleaming silver-plated rim and those wonderfully over-the-top spherical handles — this is 1960s glamour at its most unapologetic.
Originally designed as an ice bucket (hence the name), but honestly, the possibilities are endless. Use it as an ice bucket for your next cocktail hour, a planter for a small succulent, a utensil holder on your kitchen counter, a cotton wool pot in the bathroom, a pen holder on your desk, or simply a beautiful object that sits on a shelf and makes everything around it look better. We're not here to tell you how to live.
The crystal is thick and heavy — 823 grams of serious glass — with a gorgeous swirling cut pattern and a starburst base. The silver-plated rim is in excellent condition with a warm patina. No maker's mark, but the quality speaks for itself.
