This is the vase that makes a bunch of flowers look like it was arranged by someone who actually knows what they're doing. The 1930s cut crystal body is a trumpet shape that flares dramatically toward a spectacular scalloped rim — each scallop individually rounded and polished, like a crown that decided to become a vase instead.

The cutting covers every single millimetre of the exterior without apology. The body is wrapped in a dense all-over pattern of eight-pointed star rosettes set within pointed arch frames, separated by fine vertical mitre cuts — the kind of repetitive precision that takes hours and a very steady hand. Look down into the vase from above and you get a kaleidoscope of concentric rings of star cuts converging on a central daisy rosette at the base. Look at the base from below and you get a spectacular 24-point starburst radiating outward into a ring of pointed oval cuts. There is genuinely no angle from which this vase is not interesting.

At 22.5cm tall and 1.4 kilos, it has the presence to hold its own as a standalone display piece — no flowers required, though it would make any arrangement look considerably more impressive.
