Somewhere between 1930 and 1950, a glassblower produced this bottle and then a cutter sat down with a grinding wheel and spent a very unreasonable amount of time making the stopper look like a small architectural monument. The result is this: a perfectly proportioned lead crystal perfume bottle with a faceted geometric stopper that catches the light like it has a personal vendetta against shadows.

The body is a wide, low pyramid — square at the base with chamfered corners, tapering to a narrow neck with a neat collar ring. The glass has developed the characteristic pale blue tint of aged lead crystal, the kind of colour that doesn't exist in nature but looks completely at home on a dressing table or bathroom shelf. The stopper is a chunky hexagonal prism, hand-cut with flat facets on top and sides, ground to fit the neck precisely — the frosted ground-glass stem still grips perfectly after 80+ years, which is either a testament to craftsmanship or sheer stubbornness. Probably both.

No maker's mark — typical of this type of Continental or British lead crystal from the period. The base shows the characteristic pontil mark of hand-blown glass. Light surface wear consistent with age and use — honestly noted, barely visible.
